Summary

Knuckles arrives in a weird village, and stays at the local inn. As he prepares for bed, he notices some young girl being taken to be tortured. He saves her and they hide in a barn, but when Knuckles is persuaded to come off guard and sleep, the girl gets the rest of them. It seems that they need to have a sacrifice for their moon God and they aren't fussy as to who it is! Knuckles is about to be burnt when he notices that the leader of the gang, Mesmer, holds up his staff to talk to the people each time. he rolls the wooden cage down the hill, breaks free and then grabs Mesmer's staff, freeing the people from their hypnotism.

Knuckles is questioning Mesmer when the keeper of the local tavern appears explaining that he should best answer the question. Knuckles is confused until the keeper's face comes off to reveal... Doctor Robotnik!!

But Robotnik merely challenges Knuckles. He owns all the prisons in the vicinity, so there's nothing Knuckles can do... unless he plans to kill him! Knuckles walks off just saying "don't tempt me!"
