Summary
But Chaotix doesn't seem particularly bothered by this: as they put it, if Super Sonic turns up, they'll handle it. Sonic tries to impress upon them the peril: that Super is an insane world-destroying demon, but Chaotix won't listen. They claim that they've got bigger problems, down on Planet Meridian. Sonic is surprised - he didn't realise that there was anything other than weird formations in the Special Zone, but the Special Zone is actually a complete alternative dimension and has suns, moons and planets - everything.
The guys take Omni to reach New Tek City, where a band called the Justice Brigade are squaring up against the Discriminators. Chaotix join into the massive brawl containing weird superhero-like characters, but Sonic is confused - he can't distinguish the good guys from the bad guys and doesn't even know what the battle is about. Mighty enlightens him: Chaotix are the heroes, these are the villains and fighting villains is what heroes do. Simple? Real simple, Sonic replies dubiously.
Then along come the police and Chaotix flee. Sonic is confused, recognising the police as - presumably - the good guys in the pandemonium. But Chaotix apparently have a disagreement with the New Tek police force, although they're working on clearing their name. This doesn't help Sonic much though, as he's nicked by the cops. "Frankly," Sonic says as he's taken away, "I'm past caring."
