Summary
Sidewinder is a criminal with whom Furor shares a mutual hatred. Furor desperately wants to lock Sidewinder up as well, but Sidewinder taunts that there was no evidence to link him to "that nuclear bomb." Either way, Sonic is taken away.
When Chaotix hear about this they're in disarray. When they returned to their base, they realised with shock that Sonic had gone. But what could possibly possess Sonic to leave the station with a genocidal lunatic like Sidewinder?
All's about to become clear as Sidewinder introduces him to his gang. Lightmare is dressed in white robes and carries a box of dreams, which she uses to inflict upon her enemies their worst nightmares. Biohazard is an enormous robotic-looking monster capable of spewing out toxic waste at will. Proctor Speckle meanwhile is a weakly scientist that can swallow a potion to become the terrifying and powerful Mr. Fry. But Sidewinder has a new member to his gang -- Super Sonic.
Sonic says that Sidewinder is mad; that he can't reason with a monster like Super Sonic. Sidewinder calls this claim nonsense; but Super doesn't. "Sonic's quite right of course," he admits as he summons a fireball to destroy all but the area around the gang and Sonic. He wants to destroy them personally.
As long as Sonic still exists, Super claims, there is a danger that he might become part of Sonic again. And so Sonic must die.
