Summary

Knuckles insists that he doesn't want the office that the Marxios have given him (complete with a "Marketing Consultant" desk-plate and TV). As the Marxios celebrate they hear from a badnik patrol that Knuckles is leaving the zone. Grouchio and the guys head after him in a three-seater hover-thingy with a clown's face on the front. ("Not them again" says Knuckles).

Knuckles explains that although he's happy to let them stay, he must still deal with the Death Egg in the Launch Base Zone. Chicio suddenly panics and before he realises what he's saying wonders who is going to pay the running costs of the Carnival Night Zone if Knuckles kicks Robotnik out. Realising the truth, Knuckles faces up to Grouchio, who responds: "HEY! I figured what you didn't know wouldn't hurt you... which in your case means you are safe from practically EVERYTHING!"

They switch the hovercraft to battle mode, where a quite ridiculous amount of artilery expands from the thing (it looks very cool seeing Knuckles looking up to this enormous war machine... the game bosses don't have a patch on this!).

Knuckles is blasted by one of the weapons, but still resists - he's smashed by two huge metal fists, and as the smoke clears sees one figure lying still there. The Marxios look down at the rubble and Chicio sums it up: "It's-a all over for Knuckles!"
