Summary

Knuckles' hand hovers but falters. The skeletons attack. Knuckles defeats them and finally approaches the crystal again. This time he plans to do what he should have done the first time.

There's a beautiful series of captions with just Knuckles, the glowing green emerald and a plain black background. Knuckles doesn't smash it -- he explains that he also does not know where his people are. He knows what it's like to lose his people.

The Herd Spirit forgives him, and lets him go in peace. As Knuckles leaves the valley (before it changes its mind!) he reflects what a wonderful sight it must have been to have Kohenyu roaming everywhere... he just hopes that when his people return, they'll have learnt their lesson.
