STC #74: THE GHOST SHIP (1 of 6)

Script: Nigel Kitching
Art: Nigel Dobbyn
Lettering: Elitta Fell
Editor: Deborah Tate
Summary
Plunder is chasing the Ghost Ship of Tantaragor in the midst of a terrible storm when lightning hits the mast and their sky-ship plummets. Lucky for Plunder they land on the Floating Island. Meanwhile, in the Mushroom Hill Zone, the rain is drenching the village that the Emerald Hill folk are sheltering in. Porker Lewis just can't help Knuckles figure out all the ancient technology that was smashed beforehand (in the issue before this was originally printed). Knuckles is disheartened because it seems he'll never get his systems back online, and there would be no forcefield to protect the island if Robotnik found out that the Emerald Hill folk were living there. As Knuckles is admiring the village the folk have built, a kid runs up saying that a ship has landed east of the village. Fearing Robotnik, Knuckles goes to check it out. The kid asks Porker to go, but Porker refuses; says he, "Er, no… my days as an adventurer are over! All that stuff with the Brotherhood of Metallix was too much for me!". Dobbyn draws this very movingly, as Porker is hunched up and looking into the wide-eyed little kid, the rain splattering to his side. Anyway, Knuckles is pretty shocked to see Plunder but it gets worse - he wants 'a little favour'.
