Summary

Sonic and Tails duck out of the way of the beam of light, but as they turn to look they find Knuckles who has finally arrived. Knuckles explains that he was in the Special Zone (see "On the Run" in STC 121-124) and the Omni-Viewer had just dropped Porker Lewis back at the Emerald Hill. Sonic was too late to stop Omni disappearing; they need his help.

The Drakon Empire arrive at last. Knuckles sees that he has been caught in another one of Sonic's stupid wars again (he has no knowledge of the ancient Drakon connection it would seem); Sonic retorts "MY war? I thought I was helping you?"

As Sonic and Knuckles trounce the Sentinels, Tails guards the Master Emerald, but is easily swatted aside by a Prosecutor, who brings the Emerald back to Grimer. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles follow but watch from the shadows to see what Grimer is up too. First Grimer presses a switch on the Drakon sword; the Drakon armies are beamed away, screaming accusations of betrayal as they go. Then Grimer presses a button he added on to open a Mobius Ring up - and out of the Ring leaps Robotnik! Grimer's "betrayal" of Robotnik was a ruse; they used to Drakon might to get onto the Floating Island and now Robotnik uses a piece of equipment he brought with him to absorb the power of the Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic, Knuckles and Tails leap to stop him, but they're too late - Robotnik blasts them away cackling that the Chaos energy will turn him into a God. But suddenly Robotnik feels something wrong - he freezes into a green emerald statue. Robotnik's dead.
