Summary
He soars down over the island, but is shocked at what greets him. Below is some enormous city, guarded by Troopers. It's very big, has balloons flowing from it, circus faces, bright flashing lights... all the fun of the fair, basically. He lands outside it, and digs his way in. Once inside, he doesn't understand what the point of it is is. Megadroid fills us in, reminding us that Knuckles has lived a solitary life on the Floating Island and so doesn't understand much of society.
Three figures watch him on the screen; these are the Marxio Brothers, who are relieved that the figure isn't Sonic. (Sonic and Porker closed down the Marxio's Casino Night Zone in STC 18-19).
Grouchio orders Chicio to send a construction 'bot. But Knuckles sees the bot, smashes his knuckle into its hammer. The metal crumbles and Knuckles wins. A bullet from a nearby roof skims Knuckles - he looks up.
Chicio is worried that Knuckles has seen them, but Grouchio is confident that he can't reach them up here. But Knuckles climbs up the building and greets them.
Grouchio takes it in his pride and as he reaches the top gathers his brothers in his arms and with a beaming smile tells a sceptical Knuckles that they are the Marxio Brothers and are about to make him an offer he can't refuse...
NOTE: The Marxio's are indeed a trio with the mixed characteristics of the Marx and Mario Brothers. They're crazy, but quite amusing villains.
To Be Continued in SONIC THE COMIC #40
