Summary

Grouchio explains that they're about to make Knuckles rich, but Knuckles retaliates that a few moments ago they were shooting at him. "An honest mistake, pal" says Grouchio - he did break in after all, so they thought he was a criminal. Knuckles gets defensive: "I am master of the Floating Island. I go where I please!".

Grouchio stays smooth, explaining that for that very reason they're going to cut Knuckles in on the Carnival Night City profits. (Chicio asks indignantly if he's going to be paid anything, as right now he gets nothing; "that much Chicio?" says Grouchio, "remind me to cut your wages!"

Knuckles gets mad: he says that he doesn't want the money, he wants them off his island. But, ever cool, Grouchio starts asking Knuckles what his people are going to think when they come back and find the island in such a mess. Knuckles ponders: although the monuments are ancient and therefore obviously look old, some of the Marble Garden buildings could do with a little work. Grouchio insists that at least they could show him around before he makes up his mind.

As they walk out into the open, Grouchio mentions that the first customers arrive tomorrow... but Knuckles smells bad news when he sees Troopers walk by... he soon destroys them, saying that he knows about the evil of Robotnik.

But Grouchio doesn't fluster against Knuckles' accusations: the Marxios bought the Troopers off Robotnik as security guards, nothing more. It just so happens that Robotnik's robots are the best.

Knuckles is still suspicious, asking how he found out about the Floating Island, but Grouchio explains that the island just isn't a secret any more. Then, Grouchio thinks up the perfect thing to convince Knuckles to let them stay. He takes him to the Hell House ride and straps hm into the chair. As Knuckles starts out on a ride, quite enjoying himself, Grouchio reflects that they won't need to convince Knuckles to let them stay: "Imagine if a sudden fault should develop in this ride... the results could prove fatal!"
