Summary
Meanwhile, Knuckles and Chaotix are in trouble. The alarm has stopped, but the Metallixes are bound to have heard it. Espio makes a crack of: "thanks to Mighty the brain here!" and Mighty immediately starts to get heavy. Knuckles steps between them to break up a fight. Nack sees that Charmee has returned; and he's seen a load of Metallixes heading this way.
Vector removes the lid of the ventilation shaft, and although Mighty considers it a cliche, they all crawl inside. Vector sees him but shouts for Nack to watch his foot; but it's too late as the foot kicks open the shaft. The Metallix activates infra-red vision to see the intruders, but Nack runs away.
Charmee asks Vector (as the leader) what he thinks they'll do now. Vector assumes that he'll be ordered to surrender. Wrong. Metallix shoots them with a laser blaster and tries to strangle Espio. Charmee twitters about how this reminds him of a party he once went to, as Metallix shoots the roof, and Vector, Mighty, Charmy and Espio are trapped by the falling roof.
Metallix whirs: "four subjects disabled. Records indicate five authorised targets." Knuckles appears from the wreckage, saying that there were six of them. He clenches his fist and prepared for the fight.
