Summary
Knuckles battles hard but notes that the Metallix is fast - which makes sense, he was built as a match for Sonic. The background picture for the Fleetway pages is from the first panel of this.
Anyway, Knuckles is blasted aside, but reappears from the rubble with a steel girder. He throws it at Metallix and it impacts with the middle of the robot. Metallix crackles on the ground.
Nack appears from around the corner marvelling that he couldn't believe that they beat a Metallix. As Knuckles and Nack investigate the rubble, Mighty lifts a way a large chunk of roof, under which Chaotix are hiding. Vector prepares to get after the Metallix, but Knuckles says that he's already dealt with him. Until Espio points behind him and asks if he's sure.
Emperor Metallix talks to the Omni-Viewer: "your friends are persisting in their efforts to rescue you, Omni-Viewer. They cannot hope to succeed. The conversion process is almost complete. Soon I will have access to your power. Then nothing will be able to stop me."
Chaotix are charging down the corrridor away from the damaged Metallix, when Nack opens a door and leads them through. But he's brought them right into the lion's den! Vector thinks Nack is crazy, but Knuckles has already sussed that he did this on purpose. Four Metallixes close in on Chaotix, while Nack explains that he got a good price for selling them out.
