Summary

Knuckles attacks, but the robot is charged with the power of the Master Emerald and shoots Knuckles down. Zachary arrives and believes that Knuckles must be dead. He then uses his neck-plate thing (you know Knuckles has one that is circular? Zac has one that is gold and goes up much further; it glows red when he wants to connect it to the robot and open it up) to open the robot and step inside it. He swoops out of the Emerald Chamber, presuming Knuckles dead.

Knuckles survives, having heard the confession. He steps into one of the Zoom Tubes and catches Zachary as he's swooping past the Mushroom Hill. Zachary wants to get revenge against the echidnas, but first will swoop down over Mobius as an 'avenging angel of death'. Knuckles smashes through the robot's wing as Zachary prepares to leave the island.

Zachary, angered, turns around to kill Knuckles, but they've got bigger problems; without the Emerald in place, the island is falling and there's a mountain range dead ahead!
