Summary

Sonic comments that Porker Lewis seems to spend all his time on the Floating Island. Porker is wowed by all the ancient technology, but Sonic just wants to have his help fixing the Kintobor computer which is still acting strangely (see "SECRET ENEMY" in STC 143-144). But Knuckles interrupts them. One big object has penetrated the island's forcefield, followed by two smaller objects.

Sonic decides to concentrate on the big object and runs out to fight it. Sonic and Knuckles encounter a huge badnik. They try to battle it, both trying to outdo the other, but it seems unbeatable. As Knuckles has his turn, Sonic notices that although it's resilient, it doesn't do an awful lot. So he dashes back to the Emerald Chamber to find Porker unconscious and Grimer and Nack pouring over where Robotnik disappeared nine months ago (see "SHOWDOWN" in STC 130). It seems that Robotnik wasn't killed, but merely shrunk down. Sonic attacks, but Nack blasts him with a gas canister. The two use their special belts to shrink. Sonic grabs Nack's backpack, shrunk down to tiny size, but the villains disappear out of sight.

Grimer and Nack get smaller and smaller until they are hovering in electrons and smaller particles. Eventually, Grimer spies something ahead - a blue planet. He's found Shanazar.
