The Drakon Empire are attacking Megapolis City with missiles! They want the Chaos Emeralds and to win the war.
Meanwhile, Pochacamac explains things to Sonic. Two weeks ago the Drakon Empire appeared on Mobius, but they must have been watching for longer because they knew exactly what they were coming for. They took control of the Emerald Mines, where the Echidna Race mined for Sacred Emeralds! The Drakon Empire had created an unstable power supply, but it was so uncontrollable that they couldn't find a safe place to store it. So they stored this "chaos" energy inside the Sacred Emeralds.
Sonic, initially angered that the Echidnas started a war over this, explains further. It isn't just that the emeralds are Sacred that there's a problem: If the Drakons succeed in mining a thousand emeralds, they'd have enough power to conquer the galaxy.
So that's why Pochacamac had Tikal summon Sonic to the ancient past - his family has a power to see into the future and knows that Sonic is a great hero in his time, leading battles against the Drakon Empire. His eyes glow with Chaos Energy (they were turned green when he smashed into Chaos in issue 175).
Tikal wheels in the captured Prosecutor, wanting to use him to make a peace deal with the Drakons - but there's no more time to talk as the Drakons attack! In the following fight, a Prosecutor misses Sonic but accidentally shoots the Chaos Emeralds, which start to crackle with energy.
The Drakons, Echidnas and Sonic rush out before they explode, but the Prosecutor in the fish tank, captured last issue, can't get out. A stray energy beam smashes his tank and he's left on the floor cowering in fear. The other Prosecutors leave him, claiming it is an honour to die for the Drakon Empire.
The explosion blasts away half the wall, but as Sonic peeks around the corner he gasps.
The Prosecutor is swimming in the head of a water creature with seven Emeralds inside him - the Prosecutor IS Perfect Chaos!
