Summary

Sonic, Knuckles and Metallix (in a cool new design from S&K) jet off to the Launch Base Zone on a transporter (one of those green things from the game) where the mighty showdown takes place. Metallix zooms into Knuckles, knocking him out cold, and Sonic has problems as Metallix swears that he wants revenge for the death of his brother. He explains that he is just one in an elite Brotherhood of Metal Sonics.

Sonic is then knocked clear and towards the Master Emerald that rests on the Transporter. Sonic lands on it, and the energy crackles into him forming Super Sonic. Super Sonic quickly destroys Metallix, but then sets to work attacking Knuckles. Sonic turns back to normal just in time before destroying Knuckles.

Knuckles lets it go - there are more important things to worry about. The Master Emerald has already been beamed from the transporter to the Death Egg, and the Sky Sanctuary is starting to collapse. An ominous red cloud appears on the distance...
